An endoscope is inserted from the side of the body through the intervertebral foramen, and a laser is used to treat bulging or torn discs and damaged nerves. The procedure is performed under local anesthesia only, and by releasing nerve adhesions and decompressing the disc, it can relieve pain and restore function.
It is an advanced form of the conventional caudal (tailbone) epidural laser endoscopy and a non-surgical treatment widely used for chronic low back pain, spinal stenosis and lumbar disc herniation. Because the affected area is viewed directly in real time, precise diagnosis and treatment are possible, and since there is almost no incision, scarring is minimal and recovery is fast.
