Rehabilitation that restores ankle range of motion, strength and balance.
The ankle is one of the most easily injured parts of the body, both in daily life and during exercise. Most ankle injuries are taken lightly and not treated properly, but without proper treatment the ligaments on the outside of the ankle can stretch or tear, easily leading to chronic ankle instability, in which injuries keep recurring. In severe cases the ligaments weaken so much that the ankle bones collide and the cartilage wears down, causing ankle osteoarthritis that may require surgery. Ankle injuries are often caused by poor overall body balance. The core of ankle rehabilitation at the Dangol Hospital Rehabilitation Center is a specialized process that restores the range of motion of the ankle joint and strengthens the surrounding muscles to improve ankle stability and control, in other words, to improve balance.
